Flowers that keep the hours you paid for.

Every Inulas piece is sculpted from cold porcelain clay, one petal at a time. No wilting, no water, no week-long shelf life. A single rose takes two and a half hours. A hawthorn bonsai takes eighty-five.

Why we price the way we do

We price by the clock, not by the shelf.

Most flowers are priced by what they cost to grow and ship. Ours are priced by how long they took to make. Every product page shows the real studio log — the hours, broken down by task, so you can see exactly what you are buying.

The arithmetic

Eighty-five hours, and twenty-five of them are the trunk.

Our hawthorn bonsai starts as bent wire. The trunk is built up in clay and worked over for days, every bark ridge cut and dragged by hand. Then forty-plus lobed leaves, each one cut, veined and coloured individually. Then around fifty berries, each with its five-pointed dried calyx, wired on in clusters.

That is one object. It takes the studio two months and we only ever make one at a time.

How a piece is built

What makes them different

The parts nobody sculpts

Our daffodils come with the bulb, the papery tunic and every individual root. Our dandelion clocks are around two hundred separate seed parachutes, tied on one at a time. Nobody asked for that. It is there anyway.

There is a mushroom in most of them

Look at the base of the potted pieces. There is usually a small sculpted mushroom pushed in at the edge of the moss. It is not on any spec sheet.

Made to order, and photographed first

Nothing sits in a warehouse. Your piece is made after you order it, and we email you a photograph of it before it ships.
